Region Description Thakomakedones is a residential suburban district of the Attica basin and constitutes a Municipal Community of Acharnes Municipality in East Attica. The community lies on the southern foot of Mt Parnitha, at an altitude of 360 m northeast of Acharnes (Menidi). It borders Varibobi area in the east, the Olympic Village in the south and the main Acharnes Municipality in the southwest. The locality is surrounded by the National Park of Parnitha offering two basic entries. The first access to the area is feasible via Acharnes Municipality, while the second via the National Highway at Kifissia area borders. According to ‘Kallikratis Plan’ in 2010, Thrakomakedones is a part of Acharnes Municipality and is represented by a seven-member locally elected Community Council.
